NEW: Fraudulent Flippo Fired From Squadron Command in 2008

If stolen valor and shady finances weren’t enough to disqualify David Flippo, new reporting uncovers that Flippo was fired as squadron commander in 2008. This isn’t the first time reporting uncovered that Fraudulent Flippo was fired from a job. In 2021, he was fired from his role as a financial advisor for allegedly violating internal policies.

The U.S. Military, his previous financial firm, and the Republican primary voters of NV-04 and AD-37 have all deemed Fraudulent Flippo unfit to serve. The voters of NV-02 will also send him packing back to Las Vegas in November.

Reno Gazette Journal: Flippo fired as squadron commander in ’08, colonel says

Key points:

  • David Flippo was fired from his role as aircraft maintenance squad commander in 2008 at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska.
  • Retired Col. Steven Lawlor, maintenance group commander at the time, told the Reno Gazette Journal he’d been brought in to replace the previous maintenance group commander. Flippo was a squadron commander reporting to him.
  • “I relieved him shortly thereafter for loss of confidence in his ability to command,” Lawlor said Tuesday, Oct. 6, referring to Flippo. He declined to offer details.
  • The Reno Gazette Journal confirmed Lawlor’s account with the major who was hired to fill Flippo’s position at the base. Eielson air base has also been contacted.
  • Lawlor added that he supported Donald Trump in the 2016, 2020 and 2024 presidential elections.
  • Flippo, a Republican, is running for Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District against Democrat Teresa Benitez-Thompson in what is turning out to be a more competitive race than usual in the heavily red district representing the state’s northern half.
  • Lawlor said his only experience with unions was being a shop steward at a post office in Tennessee. Asked if he’s ever had any affiliation with the Democratic Party, he said, “Not only no, but hell no.”
